History

1984-1985

Ari Korolainen, an architect, starts forming and designing briefcases on his spare time in Lahti, Finland.

1985

Founding the company and the start of production of Private Case recycled cardboard products.

1987

Private Case products receive Good Finnish Design commendation.

1987-1989

The production extends to furniture. The result is the design and production of "2. Generation furniture".

1990

Private Case products receive Pro Finnish Design commendation.

1991

Design reward in a design competition in Ishikawa, Japan.

1991-1992

Designing and delivering furniture for the new Opera in Helsinki, Finland

Since 1990s Private Case products have been displayed in various joint exhibitions both in Finland and around the world.

1992

Founding of Adessin Oy and the transfer of furniture production to Adessin Oy

1992

Private Case delivers briefcases to EU summit.

1993

Private Case sets up an affiliated company in Atlanta, USA.

1994

The affiliated company moves from Atlanta to West Palm Beach, Florida

Customers include Coca-Cola, IBM, AT&T MCI, Merrill Lynch and Nations Bank

2001

Due to company growth, Private Case moves to its new production facilities.

2002

Company starts export to Japan: Actus, Muji

2003

Company starts export to Austria, Switzerland and United Kingdom.

2005

Private Case starts cooperation with RC kustannus Oy.

2006

Exhibition of paper and cardboard products in Korea

2007

Click-furniture collection. Interior editors chose the Click table into 'Editors dozen' in Habitare furniture fair. Click table is nominated as the 'furniture of the year' by readers in Avotakka interior magazine.
